Pride Of Dubai x Essence
'23 Filly

Trainer: Matt Cumani (Ballarat)

We have been offered the Lease of this Pride of Dubai filly out of the Group 1 Australasian Oaks place-getter who has already thrown a Stakes horse.

She was offered at the recent Inglis Premier Yearling Sale through the Twin Hills draft, which is the farm she was raised on. Twin Hills is one of the country's leading nurseries led by Olly Tait.

It was a competitive sale and as has been the theme for the sale season so far, the money for these '$100,000' horses was a lot tougher. She is clean on X-Ray and Scope and was actually given good noted by Matt Cumani and his team.
How does the Lease work?
The lease of this filly will be for a period of two years with the option of a third. Through her juvenile season the lesees will be entitled to 100% of all prizemoney earned and into her three-year-old and four-year-old season, if she were to race on, the owners of the filly will receive 20% of all prizemoney earned. That means if you lease a 10% share then you will receive 8% of the prizemoney won.
It is a small price to pay to race a share in a filly with a very small 'entry level' cost.
It is a common term or condition for leasing a horse and a lot of the times it is significantly higher than the 80% lease above. It also means that you are only 'paying' if the filly is earning prizemoney, which means she is racing well and we are having fun along the way.
Pride Of Dubai

Pride Of Dubai needs no introduction. He is the sire of Champion Racemare Pride Of Jenni, The Everest conqueror Bella Nipotina and Group 1-winning mare Deny Knowledge. All fillies. His Group 1 tally also includes the globe-trotting Dubai Honour and Desert Lightning.

Could this filly be the next Pride Of Jenni or Bella Nipotina?
It's not just on the sire line that excited about this filly.

Essence
Her dam, Essence, was a City-winning Fastnet Rock mare who was placed in the South Australian Oaks. She has produced the two-time Listed winner Indispensable, who was recently Stakes-placed since the pedigree below was printed.

Indispensable has won a total of 10 races has a further 20 placings from his 58 starts. He has a total of $550,000 in prizemoney. Essence is also the dam of two-time winner Guaranteed. Both of these horses are by Akeed Mofeed and the mating to Pride Of Dubai is a considerable upgrade for the mare.

Fastnet Rock has 15 daughters that have produced Group 1 winners and eight of those were Group 1-winning fillies. That means they keep producing good horses.
The Filly
She returned to Twin Hills after the sale and will have a spell there before she heads to be broken in and then Matt Cumani's Ballarat stable.

She's a neat type that will only continue to improve being a late November foal.

The owner received post-sale offers for her but was steadfast on her being worth $80,000 and decided to lease her to us instead of selling her 'under value'.

There is a small Lease Entry Fee of $1,000 per 10% and $500 per 5%.
